Network Rail

Stuart Maher Limited's Contribution

Working with CPC, SML has provided technical advice, particularly in respect of working practices and organizational structure, in support of a commission from LU to identify circa £200m of savings across the Track and Civils renewals programme over the 8 year period from April 2010.

The methodology adopted involved working closely with LU’s track and civils teams and internal stakeholders to ensure that the experience held within the existing organization was harnessed. With CPC, SML facilitated workshops to enable key members of LU staff to share their views and identify areas where cost savings might be possible. From an initial long list, priorities were assigned based on the potential value of any cost saving and this led to the development of a detailed action plan for the realization of tangible savings.
